Rob Buller

Tax Manager CPA

Rob Buller was drawn to the accounting profession early in life. He always looked up to his grandfather, a partner at a Big 5 firm, and with a love of math that began in childhood, he quickly developed an interest in business. He studied accounting at Houston Christian University (then Houston Baptist), graduating with a BBA and several academic honors.

It was during his time at HCU, however, that his career path took a bit of a detour. Following a successful collegiate baseball career, Rob was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks, and played for several years in the minor leagues. He then enrolled in the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business, earning an MBA. After grad school, Rob began working for a CPA firm in his home town of Sugar Land, Texas, where he consulted businesses across a broad array of industries, as well as high net worth individuals.

Today, in the role of Tax Manager with Desroches Partners, Rob interfaces with clients, reviews tax returns, and trains and supports his team. He greatly enjoys the problem solving aspect of the job, specifically the new challenges posed by an ever-changing tax landscape. Cool under pressure, detail oriented, and a deft time manager, Rob’s organizational abilities make for met expectations and happy clients. Always a people person, Rob finds particular satisfaction in the spectrum of individuals he gets to work with on a regular basis.

Outside of work, Rob has maintained a high level of physical activity since his sporting days, particularly on the golf course. When not chasing the little white ball, he spends time with his special lady, Jackie, and his dog, serendipitously named Jax.
