Desroches Partners is committed to providing great service to our clients while taking care of our greatest assets, our employees. To do that in the current coronavirus pandemic environment, we are taking every precaution possible to protect the health and safety of our team, our families, and you, our clients.
Consideration of Remote Environments:
Starting this week, we implemented a remote working environment for all our employees and that shall continue indefinitely. We believe this will help preserve the health of our team and help curtail the spread of the virus. We ask that you help us in this effort. We ask that you schedule all meetings with our firm personnel remotely via a conference call or virtually. Your accountant can help you with that process. We will be monitoring the situation closely to determine when to return to a traditional work environment.
The Desroches Partners’ office is partially open, but we ask that you not come in. We cannot guarantee someone will be available to greet you.
Your Electronic Options:
The good news is that Desroches Partners has been investing in technology over the years to enable everyone on our team to work seamlessly from remote locations. During this period, we will be available to you as always. Your emails and phone calls will be answered as per usual and our professionals will be working to meet your needs and expectations.
Please try to send your information electronically. We have systems in place for you to provide us with documents securely in a simple to use, electronic format. Your accountant can help you with those systems.
What the Government is Doing:
We are closely monitoring the actions and communications from the U.S. Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Department of Labor. Their guidance is evolving almost hourly. Here’s what you can expect as of the time of this message. Secretary Mnuchin has announced a 90-day interest free and penalty free deferral of tax payments due on April 15th. This means tax payments usually due on April 15th can be delayed until July 15th. The deferral is capped at $1,000,000 for individual taxpayers and $10,000,000 for corporate taxpayers. While the payment deadline has clearly been extended, your tax return filing deadline has not. Desroches Partners is taking action as we recognize the stress and uncertainty this situation creates. In lieu of waiting for clarification from the IRS, we are in the process of proactively and automatically extending the tax returns for all our clients who have an April 15th filing deadline.
Additional Resources to Serve You:

We are here to help maintain your accounting needs and provide relief during these unprecedented times. Feel free to reach out to us to see how we can help. We wish you, your families and your teams good health.
