As Senior Tax Manager, Mary is closely involved in relationships on all sides. By fostering and maintaining relationships of trust, communication stays active. Developing a deep understanding of clients’ businesses and their goals is imperative to guiding accounting staff to provide quality work with each engagement.
Mary entered the accounting profession in the late nineties. While pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems, she observed that many of her classes overlapped with a BS in accounting, so she applied herself and graduated in four years from Northwestern State University of Louisiana with a double major. After college, she went on to work for a local accounting firm and found an extremely fulfilling career, which included earning an MBA from University of Houston, Victoria.
Mary enjoys solving puzzles, which is a challenge she confronts regularly in her capacity as Senior Tax Manager. She’s also a people person, and thrives on the interaction and team mentality that surrounds her work.
After growing up in Natchitoches, Louisiana (land of Steel Magnolias) and attending college close by, she eventually married a Texan named Douglas and moved to the Houston area. Since her day-to-day work is mostly performed indoors, she enjoys getting outside in her spare time, participating in cycling, fishing, and even just working in the yard. Her son, Dylan, is headed to college soon, but her three dogs, Amanda, Montana, and a red boxer named Reba, are home to stay.Download V-card
