Tax Manager CPA
David found his vocation as an accountant in a rather unlikely way. Growing up in the suburbs of New Orleans, he was a musician with dreams of becoming a band director. He was studying music at the University of New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina drove him out.
Landing in Texas, he got a job at a commercial bank, and enrolled at Stephen F. Austin University. His employer offered tuition assistance, but required him to switch his major to Business, which he begrudgingly did. His musical brain took quickly to mathematics, and he discovered accountancy, beginning an entirely new career path.
As a Tax Manager at Desroches Partners, David is liaison for several dozen clients. He brings additional value by keeping up with the ever-changing tax law, understanding how he can better help clients as conditions evolve. Among his career achievements is his thorough and rapid response to the COVID pandemic: David was one of the first accountants to wrap his head around the PPC and ERC programs, and was successful in getting his clients to the front of the line for assistance over a couple of difficult years.
Aside from his interest in music, David is passionate about Beep Baseball, a game where the ball and bases beep, making the sport accessible to blind players. An active participant in the National Beep Baseball Association, he’s been an NBBA World Series umpire for over a decade, and an evangelist of the sport for nearly twice as long. He’s also introduced our firm to the game; Desroches Partners supports the NBBA with both donations and volunteers.
David resides in Katy, Texas, and is the custodian of two charming cats: Sonic and Bowser.
